Deep Sea Peel FAQ's

How does it work

The Cosmedix Deep Sea Peel is a non-acid, chemical resurfacing treatment that uses marine-based ingredients to stimulate intense cell turnover and rejuvenation. Unlike traditional peels that rely on acids to exfoliate, this peel uses manual exfoliation with ocean-derived botanicals and coral powder to physically polish the skin, while delivering essential minerals and nutrients. The treatment accelerates the skin’s natural healing process, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin for a smoother, clearer, and more youthful complexion.

Treatment areas

The Cosmedix Deep Sea Peel is most commonly used on the face, but it can also be applied to the neck, décolletage, and back. It’s especially effective for areas affected by acne scarring, pigmentation, sun damage, or uneven texture.

How long does it last

Results can last several months depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routine. Many clients notice long-lasting improvements in skin clarity, texture, and tone, especially when combined with a tailored homecare regimen and sun protection.

How many treatments will I need

This depends on your individual skin concerns and goals. While some clients see significant improvement after just one treatment, a series of 2–3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is often recommended for optimal results. Your practitioner will guide you during your consultation.

How do I prepare for the treatment

To ensure the best results, you should prep your skin 2–4 weeks prior with active skincare products, particularly those containing Vitamin A (retinol) and tyrosinase inhibitors (for pigmentation). Avoid waxing, exfoliating, or using any harsh active ingredients for at least 5–7 days before your appointment. A thorough skin consultation is essential to determine if your skin is adequately prepped.

Aftercare

Post-peel, your skin will go through a peeling and healing phase that can last 7–10 days. It’s important to:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF daily.

  • Use only the prescribed post-treatment skincare products.

  • Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate the flaking skin.

  • Avoid sweating, hot showers, saunas, and swimming for at least 48–72 hours.

Your skin may feel dry, tight, or sensitive during the healing process, which is normal. Following the aftercare instructions closely will help you achieve the best possible results.
